Fuck this Consumerist Bullshit

Now, I like to be treated like a queen and adored. I love to be pampered and taken care of, but why does it have to become a consumers nightmare and the dreaded day of the year for singles and couples alike just because people feel like they need to buy something for someONE?! Men and women both get their panties in a wad over trying to come up with the best Valentine's Day gift ever. Or one that says, you are really cool, I like fucking you, but it ain't love.

There are 365 days in the Julian calendar. Why do we have to save this task for one day and one day alone? Isn't it sexier to tell your partner how you feel about them on a regular basis to avoid games? (That is a rhetorical question, by the way.) Being surprised with flowers or a special treat on a day that you are not expecting one make a far greater impact than waiting until Hallmark tells you to do so.

For the past several months I have written about open and honest relationships based on truth and caring. This Hallmark holiday seems to undermine all of that with the illusion that all is well if you just buy the right card or chocolates. It really isn't that way, at least not for the people that I speak with...

Enjoy your day today! Get laid have fun. However, do this as often as you can throughout the year. Enjoy your life and save money by buying those special gifts when the prices aren't so inflated.

Cheers!!!

Well, C. and I spent the holiday with the Strawberry Slut. We gave her flowers and fucked her into a daze that I hope lasted into the evening. We then came home and made love that was incredibly intense. So, for me, LONG LIVE VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Congratulations on a lovely afternoon. You know, I spoke with a collegue of mine last night after I wrote this post and she made a valid point that rang true with the hippie in me. She said that the great part about Valentine's Day is that is creates a large scale time period of heightened emotions and love across vast distances that must have some greater effect. I'll buy into that. Flowers are nice too, but flowers year round are better.
